Obituary
Julia Lucretia Newman, 91, of Paris, Arkansas, died Monday, March 10, 2008, in Paris.
She was born November 8, 1916, in Logan County to the late Tom Whitbey and Bertha Askins Whitbey. She was a retired retail sales clerk at Wal-Mart and a member of The Order of Eastern Star Chapter 411 in Paris. She was member of The First United Methodist Church in Paris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Lee Newman.
She is survived by one daughter, Nell Williams and husband Mike Williams of Odessa, Texas; one son, Tom Newman and wife Dr. Debra Newman of Ft. Fmith, AR; two sisters, Loretta West of Bartlesvillle, Oklahoma, and Ruth Roper of Paris; three brothers, Wallace Whitbey of Paris, Dewey Whitbey of Morrilton, and Ishmeal Whitbey of San Diego, California; five granchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008, at The First United Methodist Church in Paris, Arkansas. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery.
