Judy L. Pierce, who resided in Cecil, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Charleston. She was born on August 26, 1940, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to the late Lorene VanGilder and Florence (Sowder) VanGilder. She was 85 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donnie Pierce; a granddaughter, Shayla Wills; and her brothers, Alfred, William, Arnold, and Richard VanGilder.

Judy’s life revolved around her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her church family. For many years, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She raised and showed llamas and loved her farm life in Cecil. She was a member of Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church and was active in the women’s group at church. She was a Christian all of her life and gave freely to others. She was a world traveler and loved traveling. She will be deeply missed and always remembered by those who loved her.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Pastor Buddy Corbell officiating. Burial will follow at Cecil Cemetery in Cecil, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by five daughters, Beverly Mason, Cindy Andrews, Jennifer Patterson, Tanya Davis, and Donita Pierce; a son, Matthew Pierce; two sisters, Carol Sluder of Jasper, Indiana, and Sandra Kimmell of Shelburn, Indiana; (14) grandchildren, Brooke Sims, Emma Jernegan, Ashley Rasmussen, Brittany Bynum, Blake Bynum, Elizabeth Smith, Tyler Mason, Samantha Rodebush, Mikah Klein, Denver Davis, Hayden Lamora, Mackinzee Alexander, Dakota Davis, and Conner Smith; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, friends, and family all over the world.

Pallbearers are Blake Pelayo, A.J. Jernegan, Tyler Mason, Josh Helms, Tristan Sims, Kolby Rasmussen, and Ryan Smith

Honorary pallbearers are Robert Mason and Blake Bynum.

The family will visit with friends prior to the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7th.
