Obituary

Emma Joyce Freeman, who resided near Cecil, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born September 23, 1936 in the Vesta Community in Franklin County to the late Ulysses David Vanlandingham and Mary Ellen (Pierce) Vanlandingham. She was 77 years old. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Fields.

Joyce worked at the chicken processing plant in Bloomer. She was a member of Vesta Methodist Church in Vesta and attended Riverdale Free Will Baptist Church, located in the Arbuckle Island Community.

Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2nd, at Riverdale Free Will Baptist Church, with Pastor Richard Shotzman officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, located northwest of Charleston. Cremation services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 54 years, John Freeman; two daughters, Annette White and husband Mitch and Angel White and husband Bryan, both of Lavaca; one brother, Archie Vanlandingham of Vesta; one granddaughter, Emily White and three grandsons, Adam, Cody, and Jonas White.
