Ethel Joy Arthur, who resided in Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at her home. She was born on April 12, 1928, in San Francisco, California, to the late John Scott Mathews and Minnie Mathilda (Suden) Mathews. She was 93 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur; a brother, Johnny Mathews; and two sisters, Joan Fisher and Patricia Fischer.

Joy was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Newman, Katherine Simpkins, and Charlene Arthur; three sons, Mike Treadaway, David Arthur, and Billy Arthur; two sisters, Ione Fox and Elise Sasser; (18) grandchildren, (35) great-grandchildren, and (12) great-great-grandchildren.
