Obituary

Johnny Ray Sarten, who resided in the Cox Valley Community near Magazine, died Thursday, October 29, 2020, at his home. He was born August 18, 1961, in Charleston, Arkansas, to Carmel Ray Sarten and Patsy Rose (Harris) Sarten. He was 59 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Sarten; a sister, Lisa (Sarten) Butler; a brother, Donald Wayne Sarten; a son-in-law, David Glenn Cobb; and a nephew, Darryl Miller.

Johnny loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting in Colorado with family during elk hunting season. He loved to go deer hunting and fishing. Johnny loved his family very much, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Pastor Nate Willcutt and Bro. Alfred Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, located south of Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by four daughters, Shawna Cureton of Ozark, Erin Guajardo and Joe of Ozark, Kimberlee Cobb of Ozark, and Mercedies Smith of Ozark; two sons, Johnny R. J.J. Sarten and Halley and Dalton Sarten and Sara, both of Magazine; his father, Carmel Sarten of Magazine; two sisters, Joy Miller and Jerry of Ratcliff and Linda Stinnett and Kenny of Paris; a brother, Ronald Sarten and Dorothy of Paris; fourteen grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Johnny, Little Johnny, Erin, Ronald, Steven, and Dalton.

Honorary pallbearers are Jimmie Don, James Harris, David, and Charlie.

The family will visit with friends Tuesday night, November 3rd, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
