Johnny Ray Hice resided in Ratcliff, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009, at his home. He was born February 12, 1956 in Ozark to the late Merle Hice and Mildred (Milligan) Hice. He was 53 years old.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ila Faye Phillips and brother-in-law, Buck Nichols.

Johnny was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. A musician for years, he was fond of "Pickin and Grinnin" with friends. He was a gifted auto body mechanic and a great deal-maker. He was known to swap, trade, and laugh often. Johnny was a member of the Carbon City Crawlers and worked in the oil fields. He never met a stranger and seldom lost an opportunity to share stories with friends. He was a Christian, a man of strong faith, and will be missed beyond measure.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31st, at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

The body will be cremated following the funeral service.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Cowie) "Trish" Hice, of the home; four children, Jackie Hice & Ashley Davidson, of Paris, Brian Hice & wife Kacy, of Midway, Jeremy Hice of the home and Johhnie Rene' Hice of the home; two sisters, Mary Smith & husband Bill, of Fort Smith and Patsy Nichols of Ratcliff; one brother, James Hice & wife Jerry Ann, of Paris; three grandchildren, Brooklyn, Emery, Isabella Miracle and three step grandchildren, Haley, London, & Nate Davidson.

Pallbearers will be Randy & Rick Miller, Kenneth Hice, Donny Duran, Ronnie Wurst, Bill Molton, and Seth & Ed Storey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Bottoms, Paul Cowart, Mike Todd, A.C. Line, Robert Palmer, and Mike Wright.

Family visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
