Obituary

Johnnie Sue McClure of Charleston, Arkansas, died Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born on February 4, 1936, in Magazine, Arkansas, to the late Jimmy Luther Barnes and Minnie Elizabeth (Goodson) Barnes. She was 87 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill Barnes and Leroy Barnes; and two sisters, Virgie Romero and Adell Ward.

After 38 plus years, Johnnie retired from Dixie Cup Mfg. in Fort Smith, and was a 1955 graduate of Magazine High School. Johnnie loved her family very much and will be missed by those who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Buddy Corbell officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her son, Rick McClure and wife Melinda of Charleston; two grandchildren, Rachel Fisher and husband Brandon of Charleston and Zachary McClure and wife Melissa of Fort Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Lorelai, Harper and Gibson Fisher and Ruby and Norah McClure.

Pallbearers are Rick McClure, Zachary McClure, Brandon Fisher, Gibson Fisher, Phillip Hampton, and Billy Hamilton.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
