Johnnie Mae Logan was born in Frisco, Texas on September 9, 1931 to John Phillips and Eddie Thomas, (who preceded her in death). She peacefully went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2018.
Johnnie spent her early years growing up in Argo, Illinois, surrounded by numerous aunts and uncles and her beloved grandmother, "Big Mama." Johnnie would share that Big Mama had 13 children some so close to her age that she would refuse to call them Aunt or Uncle. Her early employment was at 2 different candy factories, where she "ate a few and packed a few". Johnnie would joke that eating all that candy was how she got "sugar diabetes." One of her favorite past times in Chicago was to ride on Sundays, in her Uncle's Buick as he owned one of the first cars in the neighborhood. Johnnie moved to Oakland in the 60's and shifted her work to paint manufacturing at Sherman and Williams Paint where she worked for 20 years.  It was there she met the love of her life, James Logan who preceded her in death. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing cards, going to thrift shops and was a dynamite domino player, quietly dominating any opponent.Johnnie embraced the move to Arkansas for retirement with reluctant enthusiasm but quickly learned to enjoy the quiet country life and a vibrant church community she found in First Assembly Church of God in Paris.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: Eight step-children, Renee, Alesia(Fred), Yvette(James), Jevita(Ray), Freya(Jerome), James, Avis(Sherman) and Christian(Beth). Family members Lester and Arlene Poole, Sister, Ethel Woods and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and numerous family and friends.

Preceded in death by siblings Delores, George, Booker T. and John Edward.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 5th, at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God in Paris. Burial will be at Poole Family Cemetery near Scranton, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday, May 5th, at First Assembly of God Church in Paris from 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m.
