Johnnie J. Blamey, who resided in Scranton, Arkansas, died Saturday, May 1, 2021, in Clarksville. He was born January 22, 1940, in Prairie View, to the late Thomas Blamey and Mamie Anderson Blamey. He was 81 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelta Joyce (Plank) Blamey.
Johnnie was a truck driver for Tyson, an U.S. Army veteran, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Prairie View.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Rev. Kenny Thompson officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Ware Chapel Cemetery in Dublin, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is survived by a son, John Blamey and wife Jaime of Clarksville; and two grandchildren, Morgan and Katelyn Blamey.
Pallbearers are members of Battery "B" 937th Field Artillery Battalion Arkansas National Guard. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Pratt, Timmy Beck, Gary Lovan, Gary McCray and Steve Hunt.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
