Obituary

Johnnie Gwendolyn Beason of Russellville, Arkansas, died Monday, July 31, 2023, in Russellville. She was born on June 12, 1933, in Charleston, Arkansas, to the late Roscoe Haney and Lillian Ruby (Bennett) Haney. She was 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Ethan Eldon Beason; and a brother, Billy Max Haney.

Johnnie was an accomplished pianist and for many years, taught piano lessons at County Line School and from her home. She was a homemaker and member of Second Baptist Church in Russellville.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 3rd at Shinn Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville, with Bro. Roger Haney officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her children, Dan Beason and wife Janna of Russellville, Cathie Roach and husband Roger of Dover, and Tim Beason and wife Lynda of Pottsville; four sisters, Joann Hettinga of Russellville, Maxine Skeets of Charleston, Shirley Brotherton of Branch, and Sharon Casalman and husband Leroy of Fort Smith; a brother, Roger Haney and wife Sandy of Alma; six grandchildren, Tabatha Payne, Corey Beason, Heath Roach, Courtney Williamson, Caitlin Whorton, and Wesley Beason; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Corey Beason, Heath Roach, Wesley Beason, Brock Payne, and Luke Payne.

The family will visit with friends on Thursday, August 3rd starting at 10:00 a.m. one hour prior to the funeral service.
