John Manuel Shiflett, who resided in Hartford, Arkansas, died Friday, March 29, 2024, in Hartford. He was born on August 22, 1940, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to the late Fred Alton Shiflett and Pauline (Hurt) Shiflett. He was 83 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Shirley, Bessie and Freddie; and a brother, James.

John served 20 years in the military serving ten years in the U.S. Navy and serving ten years and retiring from the U.S. Air Force. In his latter years, John was a truck driver.

He is survived by three sons, Terry Shiflett and wife Lynne, Scott Shiflett and Michael Shiflett and wife Lisa; one daughter, Dodie Jackson and husband Rod; five sisters, Sharon, Judy, Janet, Margaret, and Mary; a brother, Jerry; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
