Obituary

Johnny Ray Raines of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born on July 15, 1964, in Van Buren, Arkansas, to the late Woodard Clay Raines and Beatrice (Quary) Raines. He was 61 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Stacy Raines, Calvin Moore, and Charles Moore; and two sisters, Cynthia Allen and Linda Moore.

John worked in construction. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Deacon Mark Verkamp officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda (Lensing) Raines; two sons, Mikhal Raines and wife Whitnee of Ozark, Arkansas and Josh Raines of Charleston; a sister Tammy Patton of Poteau, Oklahoma; a brother, James Raines and wife Beth of Mulberry; a granddaughter, Violet Raines; four nephews, Dustin Raines and Emily of Clarksville, Randall Raines and Jameelah of Ozark, Dakota Raines of Hebron, Illonis, and Gunner Raines of Ozark; a niece, Tawana Moore-Masterson and husband Daniel of Lavaca; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
