John W. James, age 68, died Saturday, January 16, 2021, in Booneville, Arkansas. He was born May 1, 1952 in Danville, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. James and Gladys Thomas James.
John grew up on a farm near Blue Mountain Lake in Yell County, Arkansas and was a 1970 graduate of Havana High School. In his youth, he enjoyed playing basketball and was a life-long sports fan. He retired from Carquest after a career as operations manager of several automotive parts distribution centers and travelled to the western United States and Canada in the acquisition of new stores. John was a loving and generous man and will be missed by his friends and family.
A private memorial service is planned for late spring. Cremation is under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is survived by a brother, Bobby James of Russellville, Arkansas; two sisters, Susan Brady of Russellville and Julia James of Pottsville, Arkansas; and his former wife, Anna Kathryn Tolbert, of Paris.
