John Oscar Freeman, who resided near Cecil, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018, in Charleston, Arkansas. He was born September 13, 1926 in Sebastian County near Lavaca to the late Audie Lee Freeman and Sally (Eubanks) Freeman. He was 91 years old. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Vanlandingham) Freeman; two sisters, Janice Tate and Bessie Hunter; and one brother, Stanley Freeman.
John retired from Synergy Gas Company in Charleston. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and he attended Riverdale Freewill Baptist Church.
A family held memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20th, at Riverdale Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joe Hobbs officiating the service. Burial of cremains will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his two daughters, Annette White and husband Mitch of Lavaca and Angel White and husband Bryan of Charleston; one sister, Mary White of Dardanelle; four grandchildren, Adam White, Cody White, Jonas White and Emily White.
