Jody Len Cathey of Lavaca, Arkansas, died Friday, February 3, 2023, at Heart of Hospice in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on March 22, 1968, in Lindsay, California, to Clowis Cathey and Shirley (Denson) Cathey. He was 54 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Clowis Cathey; a brother, Dewayne Cathey; and a granddaughter, Paisley Dickason.

A family held memorial service will be held at a later date.

He is survived by three daughters, Heather Foster and husband Calvin of Lavaca, Christina Cathey of Fort Smith and Tralanda Creasey of Fort Smith; three sons, Brandon Cathey and wife Erica of Rudy, Dustin Cathey and wife Kayleigh of Fort Smith and Devan Cathey of Lavaca; his mother, Shirley Thompson of Lavaca; one sister, Denise Cathey of Fort Smith; one brother, Bryan Thompson; ten grandchildren, Destanie Salokar, Eli Cathey, Allie Cathey, Abott Dickason, Maevery Foster, Lireal Foster, Harper Foster, Klash Cathey, Alanna Cathey, and Jace Lindsey.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

A family led open gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Ben Geren Community Complex, 6100 Golf Course Loop, Fort Smith, Arkansas 72903.
