Obituary

Jimmy Patterson, who resided in Caulksville, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born March 9, 1930 in the Friendship Community in Logan County to the late E.W. Patterson and Elizabeth (Hammond) Patterson. He was 82 years old.

Jimmy is also preceded in death by his wife, Glenda (Williams) Patterson and eight brothers and sisters.

Jimmy was a graduate of Ratcliff High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, worked twenty years at the National Stockyards in Fort Smith, and was former part-owner and auctioneer of the County Line Sale Barn near Ratcliff. Along with his brother Todd, they had "Patterson Auctions", which together they traveled throughout the local communities doing estate sales. Jimmy was also well known for his train whistle he mastered, that started each sale. The last several years, Jimmy was auctioneer at numerous pie supper's and at the Duck's Unlimited Banquets in the area. He was a farmer, trader, member of the Arkansas Cattlemen's Association and attended the Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church near Ratcliff.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Rev. J.L. Bonds officiating. Burial will be at Caulksville Cemetery in Caulksville, with "Military Honors", under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his companion, Stellene Kincannon of Caulksville; two daughters, Sandra Terry and husband Randy of Charleston and Susan Gattis and husband Mike of Caulksville; one brother, Todd Patterson and wife Peggy of Caulksville; four grandchildren, Rachel Law and husband Derek, Morgan Reinhardt and husband Collin, Zachary Terry and wife Callie and Jonas Gattis and wife Shannon; five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Mac Patterson, Mike Patterson, Johnny Balkman, Jacob Green, David Friddle, Tommy Williams, and Red Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be Max Harvell, Kedric Paschal, Bud Martin, James Hawkins, Euel Knapp, Bill Corley, Randall Jones, Larry Williams, Glen Mosley, and members of the County Line Mule Riders Club.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
