Jimmie "Jim" Petty, who resided in Fort Smith, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born August 3, 1936, in Des Arc, Arkansas, to the late Samuel Hamlett and Birdie (Miller) Hamlett. He was 83 years old.

Jim served in the Army Reserves and was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his sister, Minnie McElhaney of Paris.
