Jesse Richard Haskell Weaver, Jr. of Lavaca, Arkansas, died Friday, June 30, 2023, at his home. He was born on May 13, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Jesse Haskell Weaver, Sr. and Verna (Curl) Weaver. He was 83 years old. He was preceded in death his parents; a son, Jason Weaver; two sisters, Claudia Vaughn and Jama Kaye Watkins; and a brother, Dr. Phillip Weaver.

Jesse, Jr served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1959 until 1973.  He was a plumber pipefitter for 60 years and drove a truck for 20 years. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Central City.

Funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6th at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Rev. Randy Moore officiating. Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m., with military honors, at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas, officiated by Rev. Russ Tyler. Services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Ann (Edwards) Weaver of the home; two sons, Jesse H. Weaver III and wife (Shellee) of West Fork, Arkansas and Jerry Weaver of Lavaca; five grandchildren, Faith Johnson (Carl), Tristan Weaver (Katy), Ashlee McCue (John), Witni Whittle (Jeff) and Taelor Glewwe (Hannah); and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Graham, Jackie Franklin, Larry Dale Johnson, Dean Gibson, Chris Williams and Ron Chronister.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
