Jerry Dale Smith of Poteau, Oklahoma, died Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home. He was born on April 5, 1949, in Modesto, California, to the late Clifford Elmo Jackson Smith and Nellie Violet (Real) Smith. He was 74 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Corissa Smith; his brothers, Clifford and Virgle; his sisters, Nevline, Eveline and Rosetta; and Baby Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Cagle) Smith; his son, Kenneth 'Juby Dale' Smith and wife Rena of Springtown, Texas; his daughter, Tammy Smith of Paradise, Texas; two step-daughters, Jessica Rice of Wister, Oklahoma, and Jennifer Elder of Poteau; two step-sons, Joshua Elder of Bokoshe, Oklahoma, and Justin Elder of Glendale, Oklahoma; a sister, Deany Smith of Russellville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many adopted children and grandchildren.
