Jerald V. Nietert, who resided in Ratcliff, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, in Fort Smith. He was born December 19, 1933, in Troy Mills Iowa, to the late Leo Vearl and Carrie Anna (Bremer) Nietert. He was 84 years old.
Jerald was a self-employed farmer, a member of First Christian Church in Paris and an Army veteran.
Memorial graveside service, with military honors, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, with the Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Inurnment will follow at the National Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Charbonneau) Nietert; one daughter, Rhonda Stengel of Barling; three sons, Jerald A. Nietert of Ratcliff, Rodney L. Nietert of Branch and John C. Nietert of Caulksville; one sister, Donna Lewis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
