Jean Ann Weaver, who resided near Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on February 28, 1946, in Le Mars, Iowa, to the late Robert Paul Edwards and Helen Mae (Boyens) Edwards. She was 79 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Jesse H. Weaver, Jr.; a son, Jason Weaver; and four sisters, Mona Meyers, Bobette Mabry, Sandra Poor, and Eddielou Newberg.
For several years, Jean Ann worked at Vaughn Drug Store in Fort Smith. She was also a homemaker and member of First Southern Baptist Church in Central City. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 20th at First Southern Baptist Church in Central City, with Pastor Russ Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by two sons, Jesse Weaver, III and wife Shellee of West Fork and Jerry Weaver of Lavaca; a sister, Madge Neissl and husband Harold of Walla Walla, Washington; a brother, Tommy Edwards and wife April of Branch; five grandchildren, Faith Johnson and husband Carl, Tristan Weaver and wife Katy, Ashlee McCue and husband John, Witni Whittle and husband Jeff, and Taelor Glewwe and wife Hannah; and (15) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Kenny Graham, Richard Graham, Larry Johnson, Ron Chronister, Chris Williams, and Dean Gibson.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
