Hilda Jane Brewer, age 84, formerly of Gore, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born September 3, 1933, in Ratcliff, Arkansas, to the late Bon D. Reed and Verna A. (Cravens) Reed. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband and travel partner, Ray Brewer, as well as her sister, Mildred O'Neal and brothers, Dale Reed and Lyndal Reed.

Jane was a fantastic cook, an accomplished party planner, and could beat the most talented of her family at any competitive activity. She worked for 40 years and retired from Dixie Cup in Fort Smith, and held leadership positions in both the Cumberland Presbyterian and United Methodist women's ministries.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 8th, at Kersey Cemetery, located north of Ratcliff, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Bill Van Meter.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet Bedene and husband Dennis of Caulksville, Vicki Newton and husband Dale of Fort Smith, Terrell Canada and Ed Raper of Fort Smith, and Carol Modisette and husband Rick of Choctaw, Oklahoma; her sons, Ken Brewer and wife Bobbie of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Doug Brewer and wife Heidi of Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers, Bob Reed of Paris and Bill Reed of Midwest City, Oklahoma; (13) grandchildren; (20) great-grandchildren; and her Fin family.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
