Services for James Treat will 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2007 at The Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston. Interment will be at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday night at the Funeral Home. He was secretary of instructional services for the Fort Smith Public School System, a retired Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War , member of the American Legion, VFW and Light of The World Tabernacle Church in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Annetta; a daughter, Trieste Stringer of Warner Robins, GA; two sons;Charles Treat of North Bend, Nebraska and Rodger Treat of David City, Nebraska. His father, Howard Treat of Marshall, Arkansas; a brother; Samuel Treat of Colorado Springs, Colorado and six Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Terry and Donny Taul, Jody Wages, Joe Schluterman, David Rice and George Ross.
