James Don Scott of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born on July 24, 1963, in Van Buren, Arkansas, to Clarence Bartley Scott and Geneva Wilmajean (Parker) Scott. He was 59 years old. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Paula Scott.

James was a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by a daughter, Jordan Reed and husband Jeremiah of Paris; a son, Chancey Scott and wife Niki of Paris; his mother, Geneva Scott of Fort Smith; a sister, Tonya Beineman and husband Steve of Greenwood; two brothers, Jackie Don Scott of Paris and Jackie Wayne Scott of Mississippi; and four grandchildren, Brooklyn Reed, Brayson Reed, Callen Scott, and Lyla Scott.
