James Paul Satterfield, who resided in Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born September 18, 1932, in Dardanelle, Arkansas to the late H. Aubrey Satterfield and Pauline (Patrick) Satterfield. He was 83 years old. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Audrey Satterfield; two sisters and one brother.
Paul retired after 32 years from Ford Motor Company, and he was a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3rd, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will be at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, located northwest of Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Bettye (White) Floyd Satterfield; one daughter, Paula Jane Fortner and husband Frank of Amherst, Ohio; one son, Walter Aubrey Satterfield and wife Lillian of Lorain, Ohio; one step-son, Gary C. Floyd and wife Tina of Fort Smith; two sisters, Colleen Jones and husband Casey of Van Buren and Shirley Caddell of Fort Smith; one brother, Pat Satterfield and wife Kathy of Mansfield, Ohio; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Frank Fortner, Andrew Fortner, Walter Satterfield, Dawayne Stamper, Larry Jones, and Casey Jones.
Family will visit with friends 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
