James Ray Mitchell of Barling, Arkansas, died Saturday, September 21, 2024, at his home. He was born on February 17, 1969, in Memphis Tennessee, to the late Cecil Ray Mitchell and Lorine B. (Box) Mitchell. He was 55 years old.

For several years, James was a tree trimmer for Asplundh Tree Expert Co.in Springdale, Arkansas, and a security guard for Allied Universal Security Services in Springdale.

He is survived by a sister and a brother, Debbie Young and husband Thomas and Stoney Mitchell, all of Muldrow, Oklahoma; and his aunt, Peggy Williams of Barling.

Public viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brotherton Funeral Home in Charleston. The body will be cremated following the visitation and his urn will be placed with his father and mother at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston.

All services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
