James A. Kaplan, of Magazine, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019, in his home. He was born October 21, 1951, in Tacoma, Washington to the late John Joseph and Mary Evelyn (McAfoos) Kaplan. He was 67 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Sanders) Kaplan of the home; two daughters, Kimberly Sweatt of Elkins and Amanda Kaplan of Magazine; his sister, Evelyn Batty of Tacoma, Washington; two brothers, William Kaplan and Edward Kaplan both of Tacoma.

There will not be a service at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris, Arkansas.
