Obituary

James Edward Gattis of Scranton, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 in Scranton. He was born December 28, 1950 in Paris, Arkansas to Roy D. Gattis and Ruby J. (Lowrey) Gattis. He was 62 years old.

James was a retired construction worker and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a Baptist.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Rev. Kenny Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Prairie View Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his wife, Janice of the home; four sons, JR Summers of Scranton, Brian Johnson of Subiaco, Jason Gattis of Coal Hill, and John Gattis of Ozark; two daughters, Michelle Weems of Hazen and Crystal Ritchey of Ozark; five brothers, Harlan Gattis of Paris, Larry Gattis of Scranton, Ray Gattis of Kansas, John Gattis and Willie Gattis, both of Scranton; six sisters, Irba Thompson, Carolyn Wewer, Judy Wewer, Debra Gattis, Brenda Ahne, and Tammy Baumgartner, all of Scranton; sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Pallbears will be Nick Summers, Clinton Summers, Cole Koch, Jesse Meador, Cade Johnson, Frank Fox, Marshall Gattis, and Adam Wewer. Honorary pallbears will be Jordon Meador and Colton Gattis.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home in Paris.
