Obituary

James Sydney Gantt resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born July 6, 1938 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to the late Marvin Thomas Gantt and Helen Ruby (Morphis) Gantt. He was 71 years old.

James was a retired pumper for Stephens Productions in Fort Smith and attended the First Free Will Baptist Church in Charleston.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6th, at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Raymond Chronister officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Gantt; one daughter, Janet Mannon & husband Neal, of Charleston; two sons, Larry Gantt & wife Susan of Baxter Springs, Kansas and Michael Gantt of Fayetteville; two sisters, Myrna Minter of Grain Valley, Missouri and LaWanda Knapp of Wewoka, Oklahoma; two brothers, Charles Gantt of Hutto, Texas and Richard Gantt of Wewoka, Oklahoma; (12) grandchildren (1) great grandchild and several nieces & nephews.

Pall Bearers will be Bill Hewitt, Manuel Neal, Larry Preston, Charley Mariott, Jr., Bill Mariott, and Ed Ullrich.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
