James Edward Brewer, Sr., who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013 at his home. He was born May 30, 1926 in Jackson County, Alabama to the late Warney Benton Brewer and Pearl (Miller) Brewer Williamson. He was 87 years old. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mollie B. (Wilborn) Brewer; one son, James E. Brewer, Jr.; one daughter, Evelyn Brewer; one grandson, Kelly Davis; and his step-father, Frank Williamson.
James retired from Cloyes Gear Company in Paris and was a farmer.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 12th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with the Rev. Eldon Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is survived by five daughters, Susan Davis and husband Robert of Grant, Alabama, Patricia Dixon and husband Johnny of New Blaine, Myra Brewer of Huntsville, Alabama, Kathy Cauthren of Grant, Alabama, and Brenda Cauthren and husband Keith of Subiaco; two sons, Joe Brewer and wife Nora of New Blaine, and Jerry Brewer and wife Laura of Subiaco; one sister, Ruby Campbell of New Market, Alabama; one brother, Buddy Williamson of Scottsboro, Alabama; (29) grandchildren, (52) great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Brewer, Nathan Brewer, Edward Brewer, Johnathan Davis, Andrew Brewer, Joseph Brewer, James Lloyd Brewer, Austin Cauthren, Shane Jones, and Richard Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters and remaining grandsons.
Family will visit with friends 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
