James Ray Beckham of Charleston, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on August 29, 1961, in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Calvin Coolidge Beckham and Helen Louise (Greenwood) Beckham. He was 61 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Beckhman and a sister, Debria Beckham.

For several years, James worked at Hayes Tile and Cabinetry in Ratcliff and recently worked in maintenance for Baptist Health in Fort Smith.

A family-held memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 23rd, at Brooklyn Free Will Baptist Church near Ratcliff, with Pastor J.L. Bonds officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janet (Alter) Beckham; his mother, Helen Caudell of Bloomer;  a step-daughter, Janna Alter of Charleston; a sister, Linda Crabtree of Thermopolis, Wyoming; and three step-grandchildren, Carter Graham, Cody Xavier and Cassady Chancey.
