Obituary

Jackie L. Wilkerson, who resided in Paris, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith. He was born on January 10, 1937, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to the late Jack Wilkerson and Gertie (Pierce) Wilkerson. He was 85 years old. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Wilkerson and Jackie Wilkerson, one brother and six sisters.

Jackie was a retired farmer and rancher, and served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed playing and listening to music. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22nd at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with his grandson-in-law, Joey Storment officiating. Burial will follow, with military honors, at McKendree Cemetery, located north of Subiaco, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Deloris Ann (Williams) Wilkerson; a daughter, Lisa Johnson and husband Manuel of Paris; a son, Shannon Ray Wilkerson, Sr. and wife Laura of Paris; two daughters-in-law, Sandra Wilkerson of Paris and Suzi Wilkerson of Wyoming; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Colton Hutchins, Chance Moore, Shannon Wilkerson, Jr., R.J. Wright, Draden Wilkerson, and Caleb Gilbreath.

Honorary pallbearers are Ed Storey, Frank Fox, Willie Cox, Joey Storment, PeeWee Russell, and Kenny Richardson.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
