Obituary

Irene Gattis Ryan, 88 years old, passed from this life on September 28, 2017. She was born February 28, 1929 near Paris, Arkansas to Boyd T. and Mollie Vance Gattis. She was preceeded in death by her husband, James Ryan; close companion, Joe Houser; two sisters, Faye Woodward and Ruby Baskin and three brothers, Horace, Idus and Raymond Gattis.

Irene was a born again Christian and had lived a full and happy life. She enjoyed wearing her makeup, jewelry and beautiful clothes everyday.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, officiated by Rev. Tim Hobbs. Cremation and services are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Jill Rayburn and husband, Rick of Tyler, Texas; two granddaughters, Dr. Laura Culp and husband, Dr. Skip Culp and Amanda Morris and husband Chris Morris all of Texas; seven great-grandchildren, William, John, Katherine and Sarah Culpp, Ryan, Jacob and Collin Morris all of Texas; six nieces, Jan Calloway of Dallas, Texas, Molly Campbell and husband Carl of Springdale, Barbara Williams and husband Sterling of Dallas, Sherron Bornman and husband Mac of Ozark and Donna Flanagan and husband John of Paris; three nephews, Jim Gattis of Austin, Texas, Bill Baskin of Springdale, and David Baskin of Ponca City, Oklahoma. Her yaya sisters, Mary Richards, Nelda Gray, Frances Lane McCullough, Mary Pile, Wanda Schneider and Rosalyn Finn; special close friends Charlotte and Gene Davis, Patsy and Gary Eveld and Julie and Scott Snow.

A special thanks to the staff at Greenhurst Nursing Center for the loving care they gave our precious one-of-a-kind Auntie.
