Inez Chastain, who resided in Branch, Arkansas, departed this life Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born April 1, 1912 in Prairie View, Arkansas in Logan County to the late William Oscar Birge and Stella Vera (Biggs) Birge. She was 102 years old. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Fred Chastain; one sister, Ruth Embry; and two brothers, John Oscar Birge and William Earl Birge.

Inez was a retired supervisor and cook at County Line School cafeteria and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Branch.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16th, at First United Methodist Church in Branch, with Rev. Jim Brooks and Rev. Judy Hall officiating. Burial will be at Hampton Cemetery, located north of Branch, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by two daughters, Kirby Lea Randolph and husband R.D. of Fayetteville and Wanda Ruth Riley and husband Benny of Charleston; five grandchildren, Benny Mark Riley and wife Connie, Randall Randolph and wife Deb, Lee Ann Mainer, Robert Randolph, and Russell Randolph and wife Shannon; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Randall, Robert, and Russell Randolph, Benny Mark and Josh Riley, and Zachary Mainer.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday night at the funeral home in Charleston.
