Ina Young, who resided near Paris, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, in Fort Smith. She was born October 5, 1939, in Lincoln County, Oklahoma to Roland and Anna (Lee) Waldeck. She was 79 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth O'Keith Young; sons, Kenneth Young and Phillip Young; a daughter, Vicki Cooper; grandsons, Nicholas Mathis and Lance Young; her sisters, Ida Gay and Ruth Waldeck; and her brother, Dale Waldeck.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston. A private family burial will be held at a later date at McVay Cemetery in Carbon City.
She is survived by a sister, Ann Waldeck of Scottsville, Kentucky; a daughter, Debra Mathis and husband David of Paris; a son, David Young and wife Angela of Lavaca; grandchildren, Michael Stephens and wife Rebecca of Paris, Phillip Gann of Paris, Daniel Young and wife Brittney of Charleston, Marissa Elmore and husband Jarred of Greenwood, Brett Young and fiance' Alexis Norris of Fort Smith, Addie Miller of Fort Smith and Ben Cooper and wife Patty of Paris; nieces, nephews and three generations of grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fort Smith Municipal Police Association Fallen Officers Fund that was created 12 years ago. This fund is used to help officers who are fighting major medical problems or other family tragedies. Website to donate is https://myevent.com/HelpOurHeros
