IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hilda Faye
Frost
November 21, 1929 – December 25, 2018
Hilda Faye Frost, who resided in Charleston, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at Greenhurst Nursing Center in Charleston. She was born November 21, 1929, in Paris to the late Arlis "Dick" Pettigrew and Lois Wines Pettigrew. She was 89 years old. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda Ystebo and Duffy Ann Knuckey; a son, Jimmy Frost; her brothers, John Pettigrew and Eugene Pettigrew; a grandson, Mark Knuckey and two great-grandsons, Kenneth Mullinax, Jr. and Brendan Mullinax.
Hilda was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a master quilter who quilted with friends for many years completing a quilt each week. She was a seamstress who enjoyed making clothes, dolls, pillows among many other things for the ones she loved. Grandma's pies were out of this world delicious, and her food was always made from scratch with lots of love. Hilda enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband, and they won many bowling championships along the years. Hilda and Doyle managed an apartment complex in California for many years and enjoyed hosting pot luck dinners for the tenants they called family. She worked in food service at Point Mugu Air Force Base for several years and worked as a seamstress. Hilda was a member of the Branch Assembly of God Church and was a devoted christian. Hilda enjoyed reading the Bible daily with her sisters, singing in the church choir, and loving her family. Hilda was feisty in nature and would not bat an eye to argue with anyone that may disagree that her family was not perfect. The grandchildren could do no wrong, and she would be happy to give you all the reasons they were perfect. She loved the Lord and her family and prayed daily for each one of them.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29th, at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with the Rev. Darrell Frost officiating. Burial will be at Baxley Cemetery in Paris, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
