Haroldine Hendrix Hammond, also known as H.H. or "Zeke" resided in Branch, Arkansas, departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2009, at the Paris Health & Rehab Center in Paris. He was born April 16, 1919 in the Cole's Chapel Community in Franklin County to the late James Charles Hammond, Sr. and Alma Nettie Pope Hammond. He was 90 years old.

H.H. was a cattleman and a rancher. He bought & sold beef and dairy cattle all his life. He was a member of the Franklin County Democratic Committee, member of the Administrative Board, Trustee and Trustee Emeritus of the Cole's Chapel United Methodist Church, member of the Cole's Chapel Cemetery Committee and member of the Cole's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2009, at the Cole's Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Brooks officiating, burial at the Cole's Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years,Mary Hammond, whom he married on his 19th birthday, April 16, 1938; one daughter, Peggy Ann Mainer & husband, Bill Mainer of Branch; one sister, Florene Hewett; one brother, Bobby Hammond; one grandson, Billy Ray Mainer & wife Lee Ann, of Branch; one granddaughter, Leslie Dean Mainer of San Francisco, California; two great granddaughters, Brittany Raeann Mainer and her fiance, Joe Brunson, of Ozark and Lacey Lee Mainer of Branch; one great grandson, Zachary Riley Mainer of Branch.

Pallbearers will be Brittany Mainer, Lacey Mainer, Zachary Mainer, Joe Buck Brunson, Roger Hammond, and Jackie Dean Hewett.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Carson, Rondal Rippy, Larry Skeets, Dwight Cole, Sonny Cole, Todd Patterson, Jimmy Patterson and James Hammond.

Family will visit with friends 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Charleston.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Oklahoma & Arkansas Chapter @ 320 N Greenwood Ave. Fort Smith, AR 72901.
