Obituary
Herbert L. Hammack, Jr. resided in Scranton, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009, at the Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville. He was born February 16, 1926 in Johnson County to the late Herbert Lloyd Hammack,Sr. and Anna May Beck Hammack. He was 83 years old.
Herbert was a retired general laboror and served in the U.S. Army.
The body was cremated under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Hammack.
Memorial Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the Ware Chapel Cemetery near Dublin, with the Rev. Franklin Piercey officiating, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hammack, of the home; one adopted daughter, Erika Smith of Scranton; four sisters, Mary Parsons of Delaware, Bessie Wood of Alma, Billie Parks of Phoenix, Arizona and Norma L. Nealey of Siloam Springs; one brother, Samuel M. Hammack of Fayetteville.
