Helen Joy Strickland, who resided in Bonanza, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in Fort Smith.  She was born August 14, 1956, in Champaign, Illinois.  She was 62 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, James Downing.

Helen was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Tony Strickland; four daughters, Michele Strickland of Little Rock, Jennifer Strickland of Fort Smith, Christina Frazier of Greenwood and Elaina Lister of Bonanza; two sons, Tony Strickland, Jr. of Fort Smith and Ian Strickland of Spiro, Oklahoma; her mother, Helen Downing; three sisters, Theresa Downing of Fort Smith, Lisa Crouch of Van Buren and Karen Sheel of Texas; two brothers, Mike Downing of Las Vegas, Nevada and James Downing of Tucson, Arizona; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Cremation Services in Fort Smith.
