Harrell Wayne Smiley of Muldrow, Oklahoma, died Friday, December 1, 2023, at his home. He was born on February 7, 1949, in Athens, Texas, to the late Robert Thomas Smiley and Alice J. (Mahurin) Smiley. He was 74 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Edith (Smiley) Newman.

Harrell was a retired roughneck in the oilfield industry.

He is survived by his wife of over 24 years, Crystal (Overton) Smiley; a daughter, Jeanie Potter of Odessa, Texas; eight sons, Loki Blaze of Fort Smith, Reno Smiley of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, William Hale, II of New York, John Smiley, Charlie Smiley, Harrell Smiley, II, Chris Smiley and William JoeRay Smiley, all of Texas; a brother, Bobby Smiley of Texas; and numerous grandchildren.
