Harmon Wallace Sharpe, who resided in the Potts Community, located south of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018, in Booneville, Arkansas. He was born January 23, 1926, in the Potts Community to the late Artie Sharpe and Mary Sinnickson Sharpe. He was 92 years old. Harmon was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Van Meter Sharpe and his wife, Reba Stafford Bradley Sharpe, who passed away in 2014.
Harmon was a retired coal miner and cattle farmer. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, a District 21 member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1285, and a faithful member of Potts Freewill Baptist Church. Harmon loved working on his farm, his family and friends, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20th, at Potts Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Landen Scoggins officiating. Burial will be at Potts Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Linda Hewitt and husband David of Charleston; a step-son, Butch Bradley and wife Peggy of Charleston; two step-granddaughters, Wendy Hewitt and Amber Dunham, both of Fort Smith; five step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and one nephew.
Pallbearers will be David Hewitt, Scotty Dunham, Caleb Conner, Matt Moore, Paul Moore, Levi Moore, and Titus Moore.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made to Potts Cemetery Fund @ 15521 Potts Rd. Charleston, AR 72933.
