Obituary

Gussie Lee Gann of Hackett, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on December 26, 1943, in Charleston, Arkansas, to the late Richard Calvin Gann and Clara Leota (Eubanks) Gann. He was 80 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Tarica Clark; and three brothers, Lane Gann, Jimmy Gann and Ronnie Gann.

Gus was owner and operator of Gus Gann Conoco in Fort Smith. He enjoyed tinkering with things around his home, playing dominos, and shooting pool. He loved his family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 10th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. Officiating the service is Bro. Ted Abel.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (Carter) Gann; three sons, Jeffrey Gann and wife Kathryn of Branch, Brian Gann of Hackett and T.J. Gann and wife Sharyl of Booneville; three sisters, Ruby Hendrix of Fort Smith, Patsy Gann of Fort Smith and Janett Barnes and husband Larry of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Nick Gann, Zach Gann, Carter Gann, Todd Eckelhoff, Casey Estep, and Brad Alverson.

Honorary pallbearer is Lincoln Gann.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9th at the funeral home in Charleston.
