Glyndia Irene Allen of Paris, Arkansas, died Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Paris. She was born on May 30, 1943, in Altus, Arkansas, to the late William Glyn Williams and Vera Irene (Brashears) Williams. She was 80 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Glendora Brooks; and her son-in-law, Whit Walker.
For several years, Glyndia worked at Lady Fair Mills in Ratcliff and Paris Pants Factory in Paris. In her later years, she worked in the cafeteria for Paris Public Schools and at Paris Coal Miner's Memorial Museum.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 10th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, with Rev. Raymond Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Parks Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her husband of over 61 years, Charles Allen; a daughter, Vicky Walker of Paris; a son, Dean Allen of Paris; a sister, Vonda Williams of Paris; three grandchildren, Chris Walker and wife Andrea, Nicole Alexander and husband Todd, and Jason Walker; and five great-grandchildren, Kinsley Walker, Anthony DeMato, Maddox Alexander, Mason Alexander, and Kaylee Alexander.
Pallbearers are PeeWee Schluterman, Jose Malagon, Anthony DeMato, Todd Alexander, William Klein, and Bill W. Smith.
The family will visit with friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
