Gilbert Alphons Kleck, who resided in Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at his home. He was born December 20, 1932 at Morrison Bluff in Logan County to the late Alphons Kleck and Angela (Weisenfels) Kleck. He was 78 years old.
He was also preceded in death by his twin boy's, Donald and David; two sisters, Jean Harris and Stella Walbe and four brothers, Louie, Leo, Johnny, and Willie Kleck.
Gilbert was a retired captain and fire fighter for the Wichita Fire Department in Wichita, Kansas. After his retirement, he moved back to Branch, Arkansas where he became a school bus driver for the County Line Public School District.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston.
Rosary service will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 25th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston. Burial will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, north of Caulksville, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Kleck of the home; one daughter, Janet Symes and husband Eugene of Cheney, Kansas; one sister, Mary Huck of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Joseph Symes and Shannon Lyons and husband Denny.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Kleck, David Shelby, Albert Briseno, Alvin and Randy Huck, and Lou Howard Kleck.
Family will visit with friends following the Rosary service Sunday night at the funeral home.
