Gerald Wayne Weaver

Gerald Wayne Weaver entered this life November 28, 1945, the fourth of nine children, born to Mary Laurene Williams and Bill Weaver. He departed this life July 10, 2026, after a brief illness. He was 80 years old. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James Hoyt Weaver, Ronald Weaver and Ken Weaver; and a sister, Linda Scrivner. Gerald was a life-long resident of Lavaca, Arkansas.

Gerald owned and operated Gerald Weaver Trucking for many years, pulling at various times a reefer, dry van, dump trailer or flatbed, and at one time drove a tri-axle dump truck. Later he owned and operated Weaver’s Transportation and Rigging. For many years, Gerald raised Quarter Horses, racing several at various dirt tracks and pari-mutuel race tracks, even ending up in the winners circle a few times. Gerald was also a big basketball fan his favorite team being the Oklahoma Thunder. Gerald could do just about anything, and did odd jobs like plumbing and remodeling for quite a few people around Lavaca.

Gerald is survived by three children that he thought the world of. His son, Josh Weaver and his wife Amanda, daughter, Katie Weaver and her husband Chris Sumners, and daughter, Tracie Weaver; a grand-daughter, Emma Rose Sumners, whom he loved dearly; and the mother of his children, Susan Hayden Weaver. Gerald is also survived by two brothers, Charlie Weaver (Betty), and Don Weaver (Elinor), and two sisters Pat Graham (Frank) and Lesa Sotherland.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston. At Gerald’s request there will be no service.
