George James Tencleve resided in Scranton, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville. He was born January 23, 1925 at Shoal Creek, Arkansas to the late George Tencleve and Christine (Engle) Tencleve. He was 85 years old.
He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Ben Baumgartner and one sister, Ruth Peterson.
George was a dairy farmer. He was an active member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Morrison's Bluff City Council, and American Legion. He was a WWII Air Force veteran, was a Scranton School Board member for 15 years serving as president. He also was active in Farm Bureau, Logan County Cooperative and served on the AMPI board.
Rosary service will be 7:45 p.m. Sunday night, October 3rd, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 4th, at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery at Morrison's Bluff, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Josephine Tencleve, of the home; five daughters, Phyllis Koerdt & husband Jerry, Alice Hughes, Lois Duvall & husband Jeff, Ellen Kirbo & husband Jackie, and Pam Siebenmorgen & husband Dennis; seven sons, Ron Tencleve & wife Charlotte, Jim Tencleve & wife Jan, Ken Tencleve & wife Deborah, David Tencleve & wife Diane, Tim Tencleve & wife Susan, Bruce Tencleve & wife Jeanine, and Mike Tencleve; one sister, Leona Koch; (29) grandchildren and (21) great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandson's, Brandt, Jeff, Andrew, Keith, and Matthew Tencleve, Ryan Koerdt, Allen Hughes, and Justin Stovall.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Family will visit with friends following the Rosary service Sunday night.
