George Frederick Nelson

George Frederick Nelson, 77, of Charleston, Arkansas, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026, at his home. He was born on March 20, 1949, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to the late Lorenzo Frederick Nelson and Viola (Dodd) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

George earned his master’s degree as an electrician and dedicated many years of skilled work to his trade. He was employed and retired from Lin R. Rogers Electrical Contractor in Dallas, Texas. He was of baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda (McElroy) Nelson; a daughter, Tammy (Danny) Elliott of Charleston; a son, Shawn (Tina) Nelson of Charleston; four brothers, Garland Nelson of Fort Smith, Willie Nelson of Fort Smith, Danny (Charlotte) Wilson of Dora, and Kenneth Nelson of Barling; (9) grandchildren; and (4) great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
