Obituary

George William "Bill" Ingram resided in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was born March 18, 1931 in Greensboro, North Carolina to the late Louis Ingram and Ann (Collins) Ingram. He was 78 years old.

He is also preceded in death by his step-mother, Ruth (Taylor) Ingram, who he considered was a very special person in his life.

Bill retired from the Rheem Manufacturing Company in Fort Smith, was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith.

The body was cremated under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24th, at the Union Baptist Church, located east of Lavaca on Hwy. 252. Burial of cremains will be at the Tate Cemetery, east of Lavaca, under the direction of the Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Charleston.

Officiating the memorial service will be the Rev. Don Bradford.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley (Mantooth) Ingram, of the home; three sons, Dan White of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Mark Ingram of Quincy, California and Brad Ingram & wife Chantal, of Quincy, California; one sister, Judy McClaran & husband Bill, of Lake Havasu, Arizona; three brothers, Ray Ingram & wife Joyce, of Sun City, California, Jim Ingram of Long Beach, California and David Ingram & wife Linda, of Fort Smith; five sisters-in-law, Grace Tate of Lavaca, Beulah Stubblefield of Cecil, Jeanie Baker of Charleston, Gladys Thorton of Stilwell, Oklahoma and Louise Tate & husband Bob, of Heavener, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
