Obituary

Gary Lee McCartney, 65, of Ratcliff, died Thursday, January 31, 2008, in Paris. He was born July 12, 1942, in Charleston. He was the owner and operator of McCartney's Tax Service in Ratcliff, a 1960 graduate of County Line High School, member of the Little Creek Country Club in Ratcliff, was a home plate umpire for 30 years for the County Line Little League, and a member of the Branch Church of Christ.

Funeral will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2008, at the Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with burial at the Caulksville Cemetary in Caulksville, AR.

He is survived by his wife, Ann McCartney, of the home; three daughters, Kim Gregory of Ratcliff, and Darla Gilbreath and Meigan Lunsford both of Paris; his mother, Enola McCartney of Ratcliff; one brother, Bobby McCartney of Ratcliff, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be David Moore, Randy McCoy, Kendall Poe, James Hawkins, Billy Jim Warren, and Johnny Frank Warren.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Little Creek Golf Buddies.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
