Gary Wayne Brandon, who resided in Lavaca, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Baptist Health in Fort Smith. He was born on June 27, 1936, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, to the late Frank S. Brandon and Iva Mae (Carter) Brandon. He was 85 years old. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Brandon, and a sister, Edith Brandon.

Gary was a retired Quality Control Inspector for US Forgecraft Corporation in Fort Smith. Gary loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman and fisherman. He was a graduate of Connor State University, served in the Army National Guard, and member of Lavaca First Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 28th, at First Baptist Church in Lavaca, with Pastor Steven Smithson officiating. Burial will follow at Lavaca City Cemetery in Lavaca, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Betty (Birch) Brandon; his children, Keith Brandon and wife Alyce of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gail Nichols and husband Randy of Heavener, Oklahoma, Heather Johnson and husband Matt of Lavaca, and Ashley Carpenter and husband Charlie of Lavaca; (12) grandchildren and (8) great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Matt Johnson, Charlie Carpenter, Parker Blasingame, Zane DeWitt, Tim DeWitt, Terry McChristian, John Wilkerson, Aaron Brandon, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of Hawg Hunters Bass Club and Cavanaugh Bass Club.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday night at Lavaca First Baptist Church.
